After launch
Care plans
A care plan keeps your website current after launch. You tell me what needs to change, and I take care of it.

What a care plan is
A care plan is a monthly plan where I keep looking after your website after it launches. It’s for owners who would rather run the business than log in to a website.
Your business changes all year. New hours. A new price. A new face on the team. A care plan is how your website keeps up.
How asking for a change works
- You ask in plain words. Say it the way you’d say it out loud: “Update our holiday hours.” “Swap the photo on the About page.” Send along any photos or documents I’ll need.
- I show you a preview. You see the change before your customers do. If a price is wrong or a name is misspelled, this is where it gets caught.
- You approve it. Or you tell me what’s still off, and I fix it.
- It goes live.
Today, requests come in by email. I’m also rolling out a client portal, where you’ll send a request and watch its progress in one place.
What you can ask for
Most things you’d want updated on your site:
- New hours, a new phone number or a new address
- New wording, or a typo fixed
- A new photo
- A menu or product update
- A blog post, or a new section on a page
A whole new page or a new feature is a bigger job than a quick update. Ask anyway, and I’ll tell you what it involves.
WordPress sites and newer sites
I look after two kinds of sites. Asking for a change works the same on both. What happens behind the scenes is different.
WordPress sites. WordPress runs on software and add-ons that need regular updates and backups. When you ask for a change, I make it in WordPress myself.
Sites on my newer setup. The new sites I build don’t run on WordPress, so there’s no list of add-ons to keep updated. A change can be built as its own preview: a link to a copy of your site with the change in place. You open it on your phone and see it on the real page.
If your site runs on WordPress today, I can move it to the newer setup.
Is a care plan right for you?
It isn’t for everyone, and I’ll say so if it isn’t for you. I wrote up how to tell in What is a website care plan, and do you need one?
Or skip the reading and tell me about your site. I’ll tell you whether a care plan makes sense.

What is a care plan?
It’s a monthly plan where I keep looking after your website after it launches. When something needs to change, you tell me in plain words. I show you a preview, and it goes live when you approve it. It’s for owners who would rather run the business than log in to a website.
How do I ask for a change?
Say it the way you’d say it out loud: “Update our holiday hours” or “Swap the photo on the About page.” Send along any photos or documents I’ll need. Today that happens by email. I’m also rolling out a client portal, where you’ll send requests and watch their progress in one place.
How fast do changes get made?
It depends on the size of the change. New hours or a swapped photo is a small job. A new section or a new page takes longer. Either way, you see a preview and approve it before the change goes live.
What counts as a change?

What happens to my site if I cancel?
The technology won’t trap you. The new sites I build are made with open-source tools, not a closed website builder. WordPress is open source too. That means your site can be worked on by any developer who knows those tools, not just me.
Do I need a care plan?
It depends on how often your business changes. If your hours, prices, staff or photos change during the year and nobody has time to update the site, a care plan makes sense. If your site rarely changes and you’re comfortable making updates yourself, you may not need one. Ask me, and I’ll tell you which side you’re on.
