New sites and rebuilds

Websites

I build fast, clear websites that say what you do, where you are and how to reach you.

At a glance

  • S-01 · Websites

  • Built to be fast on a phone

I build light pages and run each one through Google's mobile speed test before launch.

  • Clear about what you do

Every page says what you do, where you are and how to reach you. Your phone number is a button people can tap to call.

  • You see it first

You get a private link to a working preview. Open it on your phone, your tablet and your laptop before the site goes live.

  • Nothing starts from zero

Your domain name, your words and your photos can all come with you.

  • Someone to ask after launch

With a care plan, you tell me what to change in plain words and I take care of it.

Who it’s for

You run a local business: a shop, a practice, a trade, a rental. People look you up on their phone before they call or drive over. Your website is what they find.

Maybe you don’t have a site yet. Maybe you have one that’s slow, hard to read on a phone, or still showing last year’s hours. I can help with both.

What I build

I build sites that answer three questions fast: what you do, where you are and how to reach you.

Every business needs something a little different. For a boat shop in Oconomowoc, I put the services and their prices on one long page. For an apartment building in Grafton, I gave each of the twenty apartments its own page and listed what’s opening up on the home page. For a therapy practice with two offices, each town got its own page.

Some things are the same on every site:

  • It’s built to be fast on a phone. I build new sites with Astro, a tool that makes very light pages, and I host them on Cloudflare. A one-book store I built with Astro scored 99 out of 100 for speed in Google’s Lighthouse test for phones, measured October 12, 2026.
  • It fits every screen. Phone, tablet and laptop.
  • Calling you takes one tap. Your phone number is a button.
  • Nothing starts from zero. If you have a site now, your domain name, your words and your photos can all come with you.

I don’t build new sites on WordPress, but I still look after the WordPress sites I’ve built. If yours runs on WordPress today, I can move it to the faster setup.

How the work goes

  1. We talk. You tell me about your business and what the site needs to do. If you have a site now, I run the free Site Check on it so we both see where it stands.
  2. You get a preview you can click. I build your site at a private link. Open it on your phone, your tablet and your laptop. Tell me what’s off, and I change it.
  3. It goes live. First I look at every page on a phone, a tablet and a laptop, and run each one through Google’s mobile speed test. Then the site goes live at your web address.
  4. I keep looking after it. Launch day isn’t the end of the job.

After launch

A website is never really finished. Hours change. Prices change. Someone new joins the team.

With a care plan, you tell me what needs to change in plain words, like “update our holiday hours.” I show you a preview, and it goes live when you approve it. You don’t have to learn a website builder.

Want to see where your current site stands? Run the free Site Check. All it needs is your web address.

Questions

Common questions

Can I see what my new site would look like before I decide?

Yes. Run the free Site Check on the site you have now, then ask me for a mock-up. I’ll build a redesign of your site for free and send you a private link. Open it on your phone, your tablet and your laptop, and see what you think. Only you get the link.

How long does a new website take?

It depends on two things: how big the site is, and how soon your words and photos are ready. A few pages for a service business is a much smaller job than an online store. Ask me when we talk, and I’ll give you a real timeline for your project.

Do you build websites on WordPress?

Not new ones. I build new sites on a fast, modern setup and host them on Cloudflare. I still look after the WordPress sites I’ve built. And if you have a WordPress site today, I can move it to the faster setup.

Will my website work on phones?

Yes. Every site I build is made to fit a phone, a tablet and a laptop, and I look at it on all three before it goes live. I also run each page through Google’s mobile speed test, which loads the page the way a mid-range phone on a cell network would. Your phone number is set up so a customer can tap it to call.
